A Phased Migration to Accommodate a Large Number of Users 

A large insurance company was migrating from Cisco Webex to Microsoft Teams. Due to the large number of users, they needed a phased approach to making this transition. The insurance company requested a plan from 4 different vendors, as well as ifonica about their migration strategy. Ultimately, it was only ifonica that was able to offer them a migration strategy tailored to their needs. ifonica was able to provide an excellent user experience along with the implementation of seamless extension dialing for the users between Webex, Teams, and a 3rd party contact center solution. Thousands of users were successfully migrated over a period of 3 months to ifonica’s Teams direct routing and calling solution without any interruption in their telecom services.

Accommodate the migration of a large user base 

With the insurance company having such a large user base of 7,000 people, breaking up the migration process into groups of several hundred users at a time was the ideal approach.

SBCaaS, Teams Calling & Direct Routing 

Ifonica’s SBCaaS was set up with routes defined from all 3 environments so that any user in any environment can seamlessly call the extension of another user in any of the 3 environments. Users didn’t need to learn new extension numbers; they only had to learn how to use the new Teams application. This allowed the insurance company to migrate at their own pace. Using ifonica’s customer portal dashboard allowed them to easily drag and drop users from one group and to another, setting off an intelligent automated reprogramming for those users.
